Monday Night Poetry Workshop

Our schedule for the evening will be roughly:

6:00-6:15pm: Check-in and greetings.
6:15-6:20pm: Poets share their Google Drive links.
6:20-8:20pm: Workshop poems.

Workshop Guidelines

1. We start with positive comments (“what’s strong” and “what’s stays with me” are possible sentence starters) and then move on to constructive criticism.
2. We assume the poem is fictional unless the poet says otherwise.
3. The poet refrains from speaking when we’re workshopping their poem. Please let the poem speak for itself.
4. Along with verbal comments, poets are encouraged to type comments on the poem in the Google Doc after the poem is read aloud.
5. As we're workshopping a poem, the poet has the option to type a question(s) on the Google Doc. Attendees will then respond to this question.

Please bring one poem you would like to workshop that's a maximum length of 1.5 pages.
