About Our Community

Friends Beyond Boston – Waltham Social (20s–40s) is a local community built around genuine connection, small events, and welcoming spaces where people can actually get to know each other.

We put a lot of care into creating a friendly, intentional environment, both at events and between them.

We’re a community-led group, which means members are welcome (never required) to host or cohost simple events with support, it’s how we keep things fun, varied, and shaped by the people who make this community special.

We’re moving to our new home on Heylo, where members can stay connected more easily.

About this event:

Join us on Saturday, May 2 at 3:00 PM for a screening of Join or Die, a documentary inspired by social scientist Robert Putnam’s research on social connection and the importance of civic engagement in our lives.

Following the screening, we’ll gather in the lobby for a community “Joining Fair” from 4:30–5:30 PM, where local clubs and organizations will be present to connect with attendees and share ways to get involved.

The Joining Fair will take place in a relaxed, social setting, with a bar available where guests can purchase snacks and beverages. There will also be some fun activities planned to learn more about the clubs.

This event is co-hosted by The Boston Club and West Newton Cinema and is a great opportunity to learn about local communities, meet new people, and explore ways to get more connected.
