About us
This is a group for anyone interested in attending hikes on or would like to volunteer to help build, maintain, and/or promote the North Country Trail along its length from Zoar, OH to Alpha Pass at McConnell's Mill State Park in PA. An ArcGIS Map of the NCT can be found here http://bit.ly/2wcr4QF
The Wampum Chapter is a part of the North Country National Scenic Trail Association. We plan a variety of activities - Monthly hikes along our route and work sessions to maintain our current pathway and build new off-road sections of the NCT. We also schedule outreach events to promote this great community asset. Volunteers with all interests and abilities are welcome to join us as you can and want to. All help and levels of participation are appreciated. Hope to see you on the North Country Trail!
The North Country Trail Association Wampum Chapter values just, diverse, equitable, and inclusive trail experiences. Pumpkin Pie Party & Hike
Wampum Chapter Annual Pumpkin Pie Party and Hike
Join us as we gather to enjoy the outdoors and celebrate all those things we are thankful for.
All are welcome, hiking is optional
Park at the Train Station
The hike will be an out and back.
We will leave the Wampum train station for a short road walk to Wampums newest off road section. We will take the bridge cross over route 18 and head into the woods on the NCT in the stomping ground of Bigfoot. - one of the most elusive hikers around.
The trail will take us near the Mines and Meadows area and, on top of the former limestone mines, now Wampum Underground storage facility. Along the route, we'll also pass an NCT hiker shelter with a great overlook for leaf peeping.
All things pumpkin and cider will be served after the hike at the Train Station
