Umtanum Ridge Crest Wildflower Hike - SLOW
The wildflowers should be in full bloom right now. I drove nearby on I-90 Friday, and the wildflowers were abundant at the lower elevation (even in the median of the freeway).
This can be a difficult hike if you do it in its entirety (6.0 miles, roundtrip, with an elevation gain of 2,400 feet), but we don’t have to do the whole thing, and we will hike at a slower pace. The idea is to have some fun viewing the wildflowers and conversing with friends.
It’s a bit of a drive (the trailhead is near Yakima), so plan on a full day, with a stop after the hike for a meal. We will carpool from the location below. Please contact me if you want more information prior to the hike.
