A beautiful walk from Tarr Steps following the river Barle to reach Withypool, before returning along the Exe Valley Way, enjoying views of the Exmoor countryside. Starting at Tarr Steps car park and following a riverside trail to reach the village of Withypool, then crossing the river, picking up the Exe Valley Way to return through countryside to Tarr Steps.

Meet at Tarr Steps Car Park at 10am.

Grade: Moderate to challenging

Terrain: Countryside footpaths, riverside trails, and tarmac road. Footpaths and riverside trails can be very muddy in wet weather. Some steep ascent/ descent. Footpaths can be rocky and uneven underfoot with exposed tree roots in places. Stretches of footpaths close to rivers edge.

Toilets: Tarr Steps Car Park.

Parking: Tarr Steps Car Park (£3 all day).
