Saturday 16th December 2023 1pm. Barnstaple Christmas Countryside Walk & Carols on the Square.

A walk through the countryside surrounding Barnstaple enjoying beautiful high-level views of the town and the Taw estuary, returning as the winter sun sets. Option to join the Carols on the Square event at the end of the walk. Starting at Fair View car park and walking through Pilton to Tutshill Woods, then following footpaths and bridleways to Higher Blakewell Farm, and then the village of Prixford. Then taking countryside lanes and footpaths to reach Ashford before returning to Barnstaple through Bradiford.

Terrain: Tarmac roads, countryside lanes, woodland trails and footpaths. Can be very wet and muddy patches in places. Footpaths can be uneven in places. Several stretches of ascent/ descent. Several stiles. One very steep stretch of ascent from Blakewell to Prixford. Possibility of livestock in fields.
Toilets: None. Nearest toilets Pilton Park.
Parking: Fair View Car Park £2.50 all day
