Wednesday 20th August 6.30pm. Barnstaple – Ashford River Taw Estuary Walk
A varied walk around the countryside surrounding Barnstaple and Ashford incorporating the Tarka Trail, enjoying beautiful views of the Taw Estuary as the sunsets. Starting at Barnstaple walking through Bradiford to reach a footpath and cross the countryside to reach the village of Ashford. Then taking footpaths and a countryside lane to reach the Tarka Trail, returning to Barnstaple as the sun sets.
Meet at the Fairview Car Park at 6.30pm.

Distance: 5.2 miles (8.4km)

Grade: Moderate
Terrain: Countryside lanes, footpaths and Tarka Trail. Some muddy patches in wet weather. Some stretches of ascent/ descent. Several stiles. Livestock in fields.
Toilets: Next to Pilton Park
Parking: Fairview car park (free after 6pm)
Please wear weather/ ground conditions appropriate clothing/ footwear and bring snacks/ drinks.
