Sunday 14th September 10am. Lorna Doone Valley Walking Week Malmsmead - Stowey Ridge - Badgeworthy Water Walk
A hilly walk through the moorland and countryside surrounding Malmsmead enjoying beautiful far-reaching views of north Devon coast and Exmoor. Starting at Malmsmead and walking along Oare Water and then climbing Daddy Combe before descending into Oareford. Then climbing Stowey Ridge to reach South Common, descending to reach Badgeworthy Water, following the river valley and then ascending Malmsmead Hill before returning to the car park via Southern Wood. This walk will include a weather permitting stop on route for lunch. Please bring snacks and drinks.
This walk is held as part of the National Trust Lorna Doone Valley Walking Week which will run from 8th - 14th September 2025. Meet at the Lorna Doone Valley National Trust Car Park at 10am.

Grade: Challenging
Terrain: Public footpaths, bridleways and countryside roads. Can be wet and boggy in damp weather. Many sections of steep ascent/ descent. Stretches across moorland can be uneven in places
Toilets: Next to car park.
Parking: Lorna Doone Valley National Trust Car Park EX35 6NU. National Trust members free. Non National Trust members £4 all day.
Please wear weather/ ground conditions appropriate clothing/ footwear and bring snacks/drinks/ packed lunch.
