Wednesday 9th September 2026 6.30pm. Croyde – Saunton Down Summer Season Finale Sunset Walk

A walk to conclude the summer season evening series around the coast surrounding the villages of Croyde and Saunton. Starting in Croyde and walking through the village and then taking footpaths to ascend Saunton Down, then descending to join the coast path. Following this to Down End and then walking across the beach before returning to the car park along footpaths. Yes the word ‘sunset’ is included in the title, based on past experience this may be misleading but fingers crossed we may be lucky this time!

Meet at the Croyde Village car park at 6.30pm.

Distance: 4.6 miles (6.7km)
Route type: Circular
Grade: Moderate.
Terrain: Public footpaths, coast path and tarmac road. Paths can be muddy in wet weather. Some ascent/ descent. Soft sand can be strenuous to walk on.
Toilets: Croyde Village Car Park.
Parking: Croyde Village Car Park free after 6pm.

Please wear weather/ ground conditions appropriate clothing/ footwear and bring snacks/ drinks.
