About us
Wandering Minds Wandering Legs is a relaxed, peer‑organised hiking community based in South‑East Melbourne. We’re here for anyone who loves nature, gentle adventure, and connecting with others in a way that feels safe, unhurried, and genuinely inclusive.
This is a neurospicy‑friendly space — a place where autistic, ADHD, AuDHD, anxious, introverted, or otherwise wonderfully wired humans can show up exactly as they are. No pressure to mask, no expectation to be “on,” and no judgement if you need quiet time, extra clarity, or a slower pace. We walk together, we look out for each other, and we honour everyone’s sensory and social needs.
Our hikes are informal social walks, not guided tours. Routes are shared ahead of time, and whoever’s at the front simply knows the general direction. Everyone is responsible for their own safety, and we make decisions together as a group. It’s about community, not leadership.
We keep group sizes small so the experience stays comfortable and manageable. Carpooling is optional and self‑organised — if you share a ride, please work out fuel contributions directly with your driver. A common guideline is around 50c per km divided by the number of people in the car, but this is only a suggestion and should always be discussed with the person providing the transport.
Alongside our regular walks, we’ll occasionally run family‑friendly hikes and relaxed picnics for those who want to bring partners, kids, or just enjoy a slower, social day outdoors. These are optional, low‑pressure, and designed to feel welcoming for all ages and sensory needs.
Whether you’re here for movement, connection, routine, or just a break from the noise of everyday life, you’re welcome. Bring your curiosity, your quirks, your stims, your special interests, your wandering mind — and your wandering legs.
Come as you are. Walk at your pace. Find your people on the trail.
