Wandering Bards: Learn Music, Play in a Band & Meet People

I’m starting a weekly gathering for people who want more music and more musical people in their life.

If you play an instrument, used to play, sing, want to start, or just feel that pull toward music and community, this is for you. Guitarists, pianists, singers, bassists, drummers, ukulele players, total beginners, rusty former band kids, and the musically curious are all welcome.

The idea is simple: we get coffee, talk music, swap songs and stories, and make it a little easier to find your people. Some days we might talk about songs we love. Some days about the instruments we play, the kind of music life we want more of, or what it’s like to finally find people to make music with.

This isn’t a performance. It’s not a formal lesson. And it’s definitely not one of those stiff networking things where everybody’s pretending to be relaxed. It’s just a warm, low-pressure place to show up, be around music, and get a feel for the world of Wandering Bards.

I’m building Wandering Bards because I think a lot of adults are hungry for this kind of thing. More music. More belonging. More chances to actually make some noise with good people instead of just thinking about it.

Ever wanted to play in a band, but felt like you weren’t ready yet?
This is a beginner-friendly first step.

This is a low-pressure group music meetup for adults who want to try playing with other people in a relaxed, supportive environment. No auditions. No pressure. No need to already be “good enough.”

In each session, we learn and play one simple song together as a group. I help assign beginner-friendly parts based on comfort level and instrument, then guide the whole process step by step.

Possible roles include:

• rhythm guitar
• bass
• vocals
• percussion
• keys

This is a great fit for adults who want a supportive first experience making music with other people, whether you’re brand new, rusty, or just curious what the band experience feels like.

Bring:

• acoustic guitar (or electric + small amp)
• any instrument you enjoy
• your voice, if you sing

Also available to share:

• bass
• cajon
• microphones

This event is especially great for people who've always dreamed of what it would be like to join a band but need a lower-pressure on-ramp first. In the Wandering Bards world, this is where a lot of people get their first taste of what playing together can actually feel like.

It also pairs well with our Beginner Guitar Lessons meetup, but you can absolutely attend either one on its own.

• Level 2: Some basic experience expected. You don’t need to be advanced, just comfortable enough that I can give you a simple part or direction and you can work with it.

We will be meeting inside a space at Terra Diamond, a local warehouse. Park in the parking lot out front. Come in through the front door and head up the staircase on the left. At the top of the stairs, we’ll be in the second room on your right. There’s a large window, so you should be able to spot us easily.

This is a beginner-friendly guitar meetup for adults who want a relaxed, encouraging place to learn. You can show up with zero experience. We’ll work on basic chords, simple strumming, and real songs in a way that feels doable, supportive, and actually fun

Location: Wandering Bards (located inside Terra Diamond)
Cost: $15 per session

I lead the class myself, and the goal isn’t perfection. It’s progress, confidence, and helping you get comfortable actually playing

Bring an acoustic guitar, or an electric with a small amp. We always end with a casual group play-through so everyone gets to join in, no matter where they’re at. Each session builds gently on the last, but you can drop in anytime

Event Level

• Level 1: True beginner. No experience needed at all. You can show up having never touched the instrument before.
