Try Playing in a Rock Band | Apprentice Ensemble
Details
Ever wanted to play in a band, but felt like you weren’t ready yet?
This is a beginner-friendly first step.
Apprentice Ensemble is a low-pressure group music meetup for adults who want to try playing with other people in a relaxed, supportive environment. No auditions. No pressure. No need to already be “good enough.”
In each session, we learn and play one simple song together as a group. I help assign beginner-friendly parts based on comfort level and instrument, then guide the whole process step by step.
Possible roles include:
- rhythm guitar
- bass
- vocals
- percussion
- keys
This is a great fit for adults who want a supportive first experience making music with other people, whether you’re brand new, rusty, or just curious what the band experience feels like.
Bring:
- acoustic guitar (or electric + small amp)
- any instrument you enjoy
- your voice, if you sing
Also available to share:
- bass
- cajon
- microphones
This event is especially great for people who think they might want to join a band someday but want a lower-pressure on-ramp first. In the Wandering Bards world, this is where a lot of people get their first taste of what playing together can actually feel like.
It also pairs well with Beginner Guitar Lessons | Guitar Apprentice, but you can absolutely attend either one on its own.
🎶 This Month’s Song Journey
Each month we work on one simple group-friendly song.

If cost is genuinely a barrier, message me. We’ll figure something out.

We will be meeting inside a space at Terra Diamond, a local warehouse. Come in through the front door and head up the staircase on the left. At the top of the stairs, we’ll be in the second room on your right. There’s a large window, so you should be able to spot us easily.
🛤️ Want a Next Step?
Some people come to Apprentice Ensemble because they want a fun one-off experience. Others realize they want more of this and end up joining the Band Program or adding lessons for extra support.
If you’re curious about either of those, I’d be happy to tell you more.
