Talakad was once a veritable desert & buried under the weight of the sand from the banks of river Kaveri. It was only in 20th century that the group of monuments were unearthed at the site.

Sublimely beautiful and literally preserved through the sands of time, the monuments of Talakad are nothing short of spellbinding and enchanting journey through legend & antiquity.

TENTATIVE ITINERARY
10 Oct 15: Start early morning from Bangalore and drive to Talakad. Check into hotel & visit group of monuments at Talakad. Overnight stay at the hotel. Camp fire if weather permits.

11 Oct 15: Drive to Somnathpur - UNESCO World Heritage Site. Back to Bangalore.
