What we’re about
WANOWA is a japanese cultural group for kids and adults based in Moabit, Berlin.
Our goal is to activate people's interaction through culture, namely through making things in japanese manner 'Monozukuri'. We organize workshops about Japanese food, Caligraphy, origami making, and wood making.

We are also hosting a japanese kids play group 2nd and 4th Sundays at Stephans Nachbarschaftsladen. In addition to the reading and Japanese communication sessions, the group normally is also simply a gathering for parents to share, chat and find a home... anybody who is willing to experience a Japanese culture and mentality, is welcomed here:)
Please note that attendees under the age of 18 must have a guardian with them.
Looking forward to meeting and sharing with people with the same interest!

Mokuiku is a widely practiced educational concept in Japan that aims to make forest-related environmental issues more tangible and to encourage the integration of wood into everyday life. In Japan, it is implemented, among other things, in school education. Wood is regarded as a material that can make a significant contribution to a circular society, but its sustainable use requires measures to care for and enrich forests.
wanowa believes that fostering familiarity and interest in wood among both children and adults can also lead to a broader use of wood within society in Germany. Through the wanowa workshop, we therefore engage people of all ages in activities that promote this connection. This project is part of the project.
