Mokuiku - about wood and our life, craft workshop (Family night event)

In collaboration with schöneberg- libraries, we are organizing a wood workshop for all ages. There will be:

-Wood coaster handcraft workshop
-Infomation board about forestry and wood from Japan
-Wood traditional toys from Japan

Free participation, no registration required. This event is part of the family event at Theodor-Heuss-Bibliothek. There will be other fun events at the same time.

Mokuiku is a widely practiced educational concept in Japan that aims to make forest-related environmental issues more tangible and to encourage the integration of wood into everyday life. In Japan, it is implemented, among other things, in school education. Wood is regarded as a material that can make a significant contribution to a circular society, but its sustainable use requires measures to care for and enrich forests.
wanowa believes that fostering familiarity and interest in wood among both children and adults can also lead to a broader use of wood within society in Germany. Through the wanowa workshop, we therefore engage people of all ages in activities that promote this connection.
