Wardley Maps Foundation
Details
For community volunteers:
In these regular workshops we'll discuss how we can improve the Wardley Maps community and create a Foundation (non-profit) that is focused on educating the public on mapping competitive landscapes.
Over time we'll look at:
- What the community's needs are
- How they're currently being met (and what's going unmet)
- How the community is organised
- What the foundation would do
- How the foundation would be structured
- How the foundation would be funded
We'll aim to make improvements to the community as we go. Setting up a Foundation will take time, and it's important to get value out of our effort in the short term.
Broad areas of focus:
- create, maintain, share and support open repositories of knowledge that are free to use
- encourage and facilitate research to advance public knowledge
- facilitate the creation of open training materials and public education programmes.
- facilitate the hosting of events focused on educating the public and sharing knowledge.
- encourage and facilitate the creation of open standards and tooling that improve the state of mapping.
- support the growth of an international community of people and organisations that share the values
