About us
We're looking to build a community dedicated to large-player-count military wargames and heavier historical or modern topic boardgames.
If the box takes up the whole table and the playtime is measured in hours (not minutes), it’s on our radar. Our monthly rotations could include:
- Grand Strategy: War Room, Triumph & Tragedy, and The Lamps are Going Out.
- Card-Driven Wargames (CDGs): Large-scale conflicts like Paths of Glory, Successors, or multi-player COIN series games (Fire in the Lake, Andean Abyss).
- Fantasy: Games like Dragons Down or Burning Banners
- Histosim: Diplomatic and military simulations of historical periods where teams of players must coordinate across different fronts (Hegemony, Maria, Friedrich, Pax games, Weimar)
We try host one major weekend meetup a month. Because these games require significant setup and playtime, games are pitched and scheduled in advance on our discussion board and event page.
You don't need to be an expert to join. However, for our largest games, we do ask players to watch a rules overview beforehand so we can hit the ground running.

Coalitions
Gamers Guild - North Phoenix, 1818 w Bell Rd , Suite 115, Phoenix, AZ, USCoalitions is a light weight, grand strategy game based on the French Revolutionary and Napoleonic Wars. Players, representing major European powers, compete against each other to shape the future of the Continent against the First French Empire. Each player controls one of six asymmetric factions: France, England, Austria, Prussia, Russia or the Ottoman Empire. Alliances can be created (and broken) leading to swings in the fronts of the wars. If we get the full 6p, we'll play the 1805: The Third Coalition scenario that kicked off the Napoleonic Wars period and featured the battles of Ulm and Austerlitz. If lower player counts, we'll do the Realpolitik expansion that covers the Franco-Prussian War.
