Warks.Dev is a Tech/Dev event for everyone to connect with fellow developers, enjoy insightful talks, and engage in networking.

🕒 Event Schedule:
6:30 PM - 7:15 PM: Arrival and Networking
Arrive, grab a drink and network with like-minded devs in the local area. If it's your first time and you are arriving alone feel free to seek out Adam (the tall ginger guy) and we will help introduce you to some friendly faces.

7:15 PM - 7:45 PM: Featured Talk by Dan Tallentire- Engineering Manager@ The Citation Group
Talk Title: "Generalist - adaptable intelligence"

Here's what I've learned after 15+ years in tech: the person who makes the biggest difference is often not the deepest expert. It is the person who can jump into a new API or codebase and make sense of it quickly, explain technical decisions in plain English, and spot the connections between problems that appear to be unrelated. Tech changes every 18 months... your ability to learn and adapt matters more than what you already know.

Meet the speaker: Dan Tallentire
I have 18 years experience working on SaaS and on-prem software solutions. I've helped shape teams, products and technical direction as a software engineer, manager and director.

I like to focus on what the next most important problem to solve is, then fixing that.

I currently work as an engineering manager for Citation Group. I look after engineering teams in 4 different PE backed businesses, supporting both the technical strategy and software delivery of a diverse set of produces.

We will provide a variety of pizzas. If you have any specific dietary needs, please let us know in advance so we can accommodate you.
