🕒 Event Schedule:
6:30 PM - 7:15 PM: Arrival and Networking
Arrive, grab a drink and network with like-minded devs in the local area. If it's your first time and you are arriving alone feel free to seek out Adam (the tall ginger guy) and we will help introduce you to some friendly faces.

7:15 PM - 7:45 PM: Featured Talk by Grant Johnson- CTO & Polygot Developer
Talk Title: "Practical Agentic AI for Devs"

Everyone's talking about AI transforming development, but how much of it actually delivers? This session takes an honest look at the current state of agentic AI, exploring where it genuinely helps, where it falls short, and what's practical right now. We'll cover Context Engineering, commands, workflows, and integrating AI into your processes, then put theory into practice with a worked example, leading to a discussion on AI use efficacy.

8:15 PM - 9:00PM: Featured Talk by Simon Barker- Lead Software Engineer
Talk Title: "HTMX: Letting the Browser Be The Browser"

Browsers used to be pretty limited, so we built React to work around them — effectively a browser inside the browser. Since then, browsers have got a lot better. This talk looks at HTMX and how, in many cases, you can stop building your application twice and just use the browser.

Meet the speaker: Grant Johnson
Grant Johnson is Director of Cloud Response and CISO / DevOps Engineer at Netwatch Global, with twenty years of technology leadership experience. Previously, he served as Group CTO at Rugby School Group, leading technology strategy globally, and before that as Group Director of IT at Rugby School.

Meet the speaker: Simon Barker
Simon has around 20 years of experience in software development, with a PhD in electrical engineering before crossing over to the dark side. He’s worked in and founded startups, and favours pragmatic solutions over clever ones. He has a particular dislike of unnecessary complexity and living in config hell.
