What we’re about
Base Camp Montana is a new Meetup group launching right here in the Valley—created by veterans, for veterans. Whether you served in Vietnam, Desert Storm, Iraq, Afghanistan, or you're recently transitioning from active duty, this group is built around one simple idea: connection through shared experience. Too often, we carry stories and emotions that civilians—and sometimes even our own families—can’t fully understand. Base Camp Montana offers a space where that understanding is a given, not an exception.
This isn’t therapy, and it’s definitely not anything weird. It’s a chance to make real friendships, like the ones we used to have when we were kids or when we served. No pressure, no rank—just veterans getting together for camaraderie, laughs, networking, and activities we actually care about. Whether you're into hiking, game nights, or just need someone to shoot the breeze with, this group is about building our tribe.
Montana has one of the highest per capita veteran populations in the country, yet so many of us are going it alone. We're starting locally; so, if you live in the Valley and feel like it’s time to reconnect with others who’ve been outside the wire or supported those who have—reach out. If you live outside the Flathead Valley and want to create a base camp in your area, reach out. No fees, no membership dues BS, no strings attached. We’re gauging interest now, and with your input, we’ll build a game plan together.
Let’s stop doing this solo. Let’s create a space where warriors become friends again.
