Welcome to the Warsaw Portrait Sketching Group!

Join us for a fun and social gathering where we appreciate and create art through portrait sketching.
This group is a great opportunity to practice English in an artistic environment while sharing creativity with others. Whether you're a seasoned artist or a beginner, you are warmly welcome to join us for a rewarding experience and to make friends with local artists and fellow creatives.
This sketching group is created on March 6th 2026, so this is a very new group, and we are currently gathering hobbyists and artists who would like to meet offline. Once we have at least five members, we will begin scheduling our first meetup.

Purpose

This meetup focuses purely on portrait sketching and socializing with artists — nothing more and nothing less.
Artists of all levels are welcome, from beginners to professionals. Since we are a sketching group, this gathering gives everyone a great opportunity to learn new styles, exchange ideas, and improve their skills together.

How we do it

We gather in a café and sketch portraits of each other.
One person will volunteer to stay still as the model while everyone else sketches. Each session lasts 15 minutes. After that, another member becomes the model and we continue drawing.
At the end of the session, we gather our sketches together and enjoy chatting with fellow artists.

Language

English will be the main language used during the meetup.
We expect both locals and expats to join, so English helps everyone communicate comfortably and practice the language together.

Rules

• Being a model: The host will start as the first model and will choose the next volunteer, or if there is a volunteer wants to initiate of being model, then sketching session start as how it is. The role will rotate throughout the session.
• Sketching time: Each sketching session lasts 15 minutes.
• Tools: It is up to you. You can use any sketching or painting tools that you want to use
• Photography: During the sketching session, no photos will be taken, especially of the volunteer model. Group photos are welcome before or after the sketching session.
• Sharing artwork: After the sketching session, we will share our sketchbooks and enjoy looking at each other's work. Critiques or feedback will only be given if the artist asks for it.
• Members are welcome to take photos of sketchbooks and share them on social media.
• Café etiquette: Since we will usually gather in a café, please consider ordering a drink or something small to support the café and show good manners to the owner.
