How Business Becomes IT
Using the Enterprise Metamodel to Drive Better Decisions
What really happens between a business idea and the IT systems that eventually support it? In most organisations, this journey isn’t very visible. Business talks about goals, capabilities, and outcomes, while IT focuses on systems, applications, and infrastructure. Somewhere in between, things often become unclear, fragmented, and difficult to navigate.
In this session, we’ll make that journey understandable.

DETAILS:
We’ll introduce the Enterprise Metamodel as a simple but powerful way to connect the dots across your organisation. Think of it as a map that shows how everything fits together—from business needs and services, through applications, all the way down to the underlying infrastructure.
Rather than focusing on theory, we’ll keep things practical. You’ll get a clear mental model for understanding how business expectations shape IT landscapes, how to “read” your environment, and how to see dependencies that are usually hidden.
By the end of the session, you’ll walk away with:
- A simple framework to connect business capabilities with actual systems
- Better visibility into how your IT landscape is structured
- A clearer understanding of dependencies and their impact
- Practical ideas you can apply immediately in your organization
If you’ve ever thought, “Why is our IT landscape so hard to understand?” — this session is for you.
Expect a relaxed, experience-driven conversation with real examples, honest insights, and no buzzword overload—just a straightforward way to understand how business becomes IT.
