La Milonga Ideal : Advent edition with Corina Piatti, DJ Su Strange
Details
{Tango Warwick milongas are often crowded, and dancing at them can require the leaders to have thoroughly mastered basic floorcraft, and be confident in doing so, especially appreciating that complicated moves are likely to be inappropriate. At least equally importantly followers need to have thoroughly mastered the art of being guided by their leader, so that their leader can avoid even minor collisions. Both need to be aware of the general etiquette of tango eg see https://tangoe14.co.uk/tango-codigos-or-tango-etiquette/#:~:text=During%20tango%20parties%2F%20events%20also,the%20codigos%20de%20tango%20or }

Tickets cost £15 (£10 for students with student card). If we have room they will be on sale IN CASH, please, at the door. Last time Corina came we were sold out before the date.
.
There will be some nibbles, soft drinks, fine cordials and wine for early arrivers, but BYOB if you wish.
We encourage good tango, nice ronda and cabeceo!
It will be the friendly, joyful, welcoming, and lively, milonga tango dancers have come to love. Above all there will be a warm welcome for visitors, occasionals, and regulars alike.
Hatton Village Hall is a red brick & stone, basically one storey, building in its own car park on the east side of the Birmingham Rd, A 4177, between Hatton and Haseley. We are in the Main Hall.
Coming from M40 take A46 towards Coventry at Junction 15, take left at first junction, onto A4177/A425 roundabout, go north on Birmingham Rd past Hatton. It is not the Hatton Park Village Hall!! Go past Hatton Arms pub and continue some way. The Hall will be seen on the right, after a slight bend, in the fork made by a small road, Firs Lane, forking right. The entrance is on Firs Lane. It is easy to overshoot!
PARKING is in the capacious car park, entrance on side road, or park on a side road.
CORINA PIATTI
Corina is a very accomplished vocalist, in several Latin music and dance genres, especially tango. For us she will be singing to tango music for us to dance to. She's been recognised with second place as best Latin vocalist in the UK (LUKAS Awards) and first place in Blues and Jazz on the European platform Show4Me.
"Her voice can be as dainty as a fluffy cloud in the bright morning sky, then swell into a torrent of rain that carries everyone in the milonga—and she’s proven, time and again, that she can single-handedly make everyone dance."
SU STRANGE:
Our guest DJ will be holding everything together in the beginning and then keeping us moving for the second half of the evening! Su Strange will do that most excellently. She runs very popular milongas in Derby and is much sought after as a DJ, especially for her reputation of playing lovely music keeping the energy level high.
TOURISM etc.: Birmingham Airport is close. There are several pleasant pubs and eating places nearby, some by canals. Plenty of accommodation can be found in Warwick, Leamington, Kenilworth, or Stratford-on-Avon. My favourite National Trust property the moated Baddesley Clinton house is just a few miles away.
