Level 1 Assessment Practice

THOSE SCHEDULED TO TAKE THE ASSESSMENT WILL HAVE PRIORITY!
We will practice anything we decide related to practicing for the assessment. Notice that we are practicing.

WE WILL NOT BE TYING ANY KNOTS. YOU MUST BE ABLE TO EFFICIENTLY AND CORRECTLY TIE ALL KNOTS ON THE CHECKLIST!
It is a 5pm start time because the area gets busy! Those driving from SLC will have traffic to deal with so plan accordingly.

Rule #1 for free events....DON'T CANCEL! And manage your RSVP responsibly.

What to bring:
• Harness- (Canyoneering style preferred as it has a horizontal tie-in as opposed to a regular climbing harness)
• Helmet
• Rappel Device (Totem, HooDoo, CRITR2, SQWUREL) or similar device preferred. (No ATCs or similar tube-type device or Figure 8s.)
• 3-4 Locking Screw-Gate Carabiners (HMS, pear-shape preferred)
• Ascending/self-rescue gear.
• Water, food and snacks for the day
• REQUIRED- A personal anchor system, safety tether, ect.
• Dress appropriately for anticipated weather (long sleeve shirt/pants, waterproof shoes, sunglasses, hat, sunscreen, windbreaker/jacket, and whatever else you may need to stay comfortable for each day. Wetsuit NOT required).
• No +1 RSVPs. If you know someone who would like to attend, please have them join the meetup group and sign up using their own account.
• Restrooms WILL NOT be available. Bring a WAG bag, etc.
• By signing up for and/or attending this Meetup event, you acknowledge, understand, accept, and agree that: Canyoneering and other outdoor activities can be dangerous and can cause serious bodily injury and possibly death; The organizers of this meetup and current and former members cannot be held responsible or liable in any way for the actions of any participant - including you - at any event; You release and forever discharge the organizers jointly and severally from any actions, causes of actions, claims, damage, loss including death or injury which may be sustained from participating in this Meetup event.
