Zion

Hello everyone, I'm excited to be organizing this trip to Zion! The weekend will consist of two canyons I haven't done yet... Lodge(Saturday 27th) and Englestead(Sunday 29th). I'm opening this trip up to 4 participants and a co-leader. I have already purchased the permits for these dates and after the participants are put on the going list, we will be splitting the cost of the permits.

This isn't a trip for beginners. There is a vetting process. I'm requiring a L1 Certification or higher, or comparable skills and experience.

There will be a zoom call two weeks prior to the event where we will talk all logistics of the event (transportation, camping, group gear, and everything else).

This is a weekend trip and we will be camping near Zion National Park on blm grounds on friday and saturday night. So everyone will need their own camping gear etc. or if not camping, secure accommodations.

What to bring:
• Harness (Canyoneering style preferred as it has a horizontal tie-in as opposed to a regular climbing harness)
• Helmet
• Rappel Device (Totem, ATS, Pirana, CRITR2, SQWUREL or similar) and VT prusik. (No ATCs or similar tube-type device or Figure 8s.)
• 3-4 Locking Screw-Gate Carabiners (HMS, pear-shape preferred)
• Water, food and snacks for the weekend
• REQUIRED- A personal anchor system, safety tether, etc.
• Dress appropriately for anticipated weather (long sleeve shirt/pants, sunglasses, hat, sunscreen, windbreaker/jacket, and whatever else you may need to stay comfortable for each day.).

Rule #1 for free events....DON'T CANCEL! If you must cancel, please do so in a timely manner that allows the person taking your place time to prepare and attend.
