Mid-Winter Canyoning Dream

Mid-winter canyoning in St George area!

Saturday canyon options: Johnson Arch (wetsuit recommended), maybe Yankee Doodle/Boltergeist (wetsuit recommended), maybe Refrigerator, maybe Dick's, maybe Cherry

Sunday canyon: Benson Creek (dress warmly and prepare to get icy water sprayed on you during rappels). Microspikes needed for approach.

Max 10 people. Everyone starts on meetup's "waitlist". People moved to "going" after paying the accommodation fee below.

a) Accommodation: staying at Dana and Shane's very nice condo in Washington, UT (cost = $50/person total for Fri and Sat nights to cover cleaning/supplies). A few people will be on the floor. Hot tub available! (Fee is NOT refundable...must be paid to move from "Waitlist" to "Going")

b) Group dinner Saturday night (plans to be announced)

c) Must know how to rig a releasable rappel (Figure 8 block, Totem block, or Munter-Mule-Overhand), quickly rig your own rappel device (no ATCs), lock off your rappel device, and adjust rappel friction mid-rappel.

d) Everyone helps! (carry ropes, bag the ropes, carpooling, be ready on time, help others, etc.)

e) You MUST be a member of the Wasatch Mountain Club to attend. We'll check this.

Organizer will make final determination regarding participation.
Meetup Priority will not be recognized in this group.
