Specific Hike Detail:

Hike: Foothills Traverse
Trailhead: Tunnel Springs Park
Carpool From: Home Depot 2100 South I-15
Address: 1080 East Eaglepointe Drive, City of North Salt Lake, UT, us

This adventure is a 6 mile out-and-back trek traversing the foothills sandwiched between North Salt Lake and Salt Lake City. Our route contours around about 3 miles each way over roller-coaster terrain on a combination of trails and fire roads; along the way we’ll climb a total of about 1,000 feet as we ramble through a Foothills Protection Area and snake along on the Bonneville Shoreline Trail. Our itinerary is to drop down to Ensign Peak -- a Salt Lake City Nature Park -- before returning.
On clear day hikes this saunter across the foothills high above Salt Lake City presents wonderful vistas of Farmington Bay Marshes, Antelope Island, the Great Salt Lake, and of course, Wasatch Front summits ringing the Salt Lake Valley.
We will leave Home Depot Parking lot at 6:30pm to carpool or caravan to the trailhead, or meet us at at Tunnel Springs Park, 1080 East Eaglepointe Drive, at 6:50pm.
