Details

This is a Snowshoe Hike Series. The following is generic information about our snowshoe hikes:

  1. Please meet on time or contact us so we know you are coming
  2. Dress in Layers with options for really cold if needed.
  3. Bring water and snacks
  4. Stay in groups and communicate with those in your group.
  5. Winter Hiking is the best! I hope you like it too.
  6. Bring a flashlight or Headlamp with working batteries if the hike is after dark.
  7. Bring a sled for the way down if you have one and you know how to be safe. Sled is optional.

I have extra snowshoes. If you want to borrow a pair, request it in the comments. Via the comments, I will post if all my supply is spoken for. Many places that sell snowshoes will rent them too. Some (if not most) will apply the cost of the rental to the purchase if you buy them. Check before and trust them (not me).

Specific Hike Detail:
We will carpool to the Nordic Center next to Silver Lake. We snow shoe to Twin Lakes and sled down the slopes. Feel free to share thoughts and ideas in the comments.

Please check comments for more detail (Like if Snowshoes are required.

Feel free to make suggestions or offer to lead a hike on a particular hike to the adult playground or to one or more of the lakes or whatever you think would be great.

Help Wanted!

The help I think we need is:

  1. Participation: I can post and participate. I can even lead us on trails. However, I don't know the trails like many of you. I can do my best to lead to a particular area, however, it may not be perfect. I know I can keep a group safe and get them back to the cars. However, maybe some of you can help guild us so we hike where we intend?
  2. After Hike Social: Many groups like to meet after and socialize. This is not my specialty. If you are interested in meeting up after, you can post a comment to invite others or you can create a separate event. If you want to post a separate event but you're not an organizer, let me know know and we can either make you an organizer or I can post it for you.
  3. It would be great if some of you would become organizers and help lead some of these hikes. I only know so many hikes (and they are limited too). I mostly followed the group when it came to winter hikes. I would love to follow you. I am willing to help in any way!
