Ashley Gorge Via Ferrata:
Have you heard of Via Ferrata? It means “Iron way” in Italian. Via ferrata routes are climbing paths equipped with permanent horizontal tensioned steel cables, steel climbing rungs, and ladders, and aerial cable bridges. You will clip yourself while following the routes. The only and Utah’s first public via ferrata without needing a guide is in Ashley Gorge near Vernal, UT.
The routes range from beginner-friendly 4 hour adventures to a full-day 8-mile challenges that takes 8-10 hours. Will determine if we will do half day or full day course later.
**You can learn more about Ashley Gorge Via Ferrata routes here: https://www.gorgegearco.com/route**
Camping: TBD likely dispersed camping. For meals. We will like share
Gear: To participate in the Ashley Gorge Via Ferrata you will need to have the proper gear including climbing harness, helmet, and via Ferrara specific lanyard. You will need gears, especially via ferrata lanyard. Proper gear should have labels such as EN958 (energy absorbing lanyard system), EN12492 (helmet), EN12277 (harness).
Rental for the kit is $40 and lanyard alone is $25. Pick up 24/7 self-service locker in Roosevelt, UT.

Waver: The county does require each person to sign a waver after watching the video.
