Lake Havasu Paddle Race - Worth the Drive!

Details
Lake Havasu Outrigger Canoe Club does it AGAIN!
Here's a cool video from a previous year. I see friends from the Zion Paddlers Meetup Group, Nick and Rebecca Guillen, as well as their son. I'm in there, our buddies from 9th Island in Vegas/Henderson/Boulder did well. They mention Clete Dadian at 3:04 - Clete was a tremendous soul and a strong paddler who fell in the line of duty as a firefighter for Henderson FD. Love you, Clete. Your memory lives on, even in Utah.

Truly an event for all skill levels with a variety of distances and paddlecraft types, Havasu Heat is for everyone. This is a morning to noon event, basically. It's an easy paddle around the corner to see the London Bridge, if you like, along with waterfront hotels and eateries. Easy little sightseeing paddle cruise on the side!
I plan to head down on Friday as early as I am able to and camp out the night before, maybe do a hotel. There are camping and Airbnb options in the area. Anybody want to do a cost-share on a waterfront property?

Event Cost: It's just thirty bucks to sign up now, will increase to $50 on race morning.
Gear Cost: If you want to paddle Dig Paddlesports equipment at the event, just call and we'll sort out a rental that will make you smile. If you are a Paddle Club Member, it's just $10/item/event (not charging per calendar day). I'm limited to probably 4 hardshell touring kayaks, 2-3 hard SUPs, and we have some great inflatable touring SUPs, probably 2-3 will fit.
Not a Paddle Club Member? Consider joining. Non-club member rate for this event (gear rental) is $85. We'll make the best selection for you, with you, and then do the transportation.
Dig Paddlesports' Paddle Club Membership: $350/year. Paddle any 1-person kayak or stand up paddleboard in our fleet at Quail Creek State Park for up to 4 hours/day, any day of the year, based on availability. We have some amazing pieces for you to enjoy, including paddles that run $400+ and feel incredible. Cheaper than buying, easier than hauling, lifting, cleaning, and storing.
Food: We can potluck lunch right after the event or go solo. Let me know if you are interested, and we can collaborate. There is also a food truck that will be on site. Also, plenty of restaurants in the general area.
