What we’re about
The Wascana Wanderers are a friendly outdoor walking club. We have a lot of fun and are always keen to welcome newcomers. Our club was formed in 1994 and we have been on Meetup since July 29, 2023. Our club has approximately 15 members. We enjoy walks throughout the year all over southern Saskatchewan. If you are looking for something to do that's enjoyable, healthful, and non-competitive, you may well find that our club fits the bill.
If you'd like to give us a try, just show up at the start point of one of our walks and let the host know that you're new.
As a new walker, you would be entitled to 5 FREE walks. After that, you may
wish to become a full-fledged member of our club. An annual membership
is $10.00.
We are affiliated with nineteen other walking clubs across Canada in such places as Vancouver, Ottawa and Dartmouth, There is the opportunity to take part in walking festivals within Canada,
the U.S. and Europe as well as join other clubs on their walks in other towns and cities across North America when you are visiting.
All of our walks are round trip walks, with a choice of a 5 km or 10 km route. We encourage walking at a pace that is comfortable for you.
Our walks usually start at 9 am and typically attract between 6 to 8 participants. At every walk, upon arriving at the start point, we ask that you register (sign in) and pay a participation fee of $2.00. Our membership fees and walk fees cover our costs; we are strictly non-profit.
Following a walk, we often go for coffee or lunch.
