Farewell to the Butterfly Season

Details
Say Farewell to the Butterfly Season by Welcoming Coronis Fritillaries back to Snow Mountain Ranch in Yakima
Saturday, September 13 (with bad weather dates of 12th, 14th and 15th)
Trip leader, Dr. David James
After a summer vacation in the Cascades, Coronis Fritillaries return in early fall to where they were born in the shrub steppe. Each September, Snow Mountain Ranch, west of Yakima, hosts hundreds of Coronis that flock to feed on the rabbitbrush flowers there. Pleasant September weather and abundant butterflies is an experience we offer you to conclude our WBA field trip program for 2025.
David James, who has researched Coronis Fritillaries for nearly two decades, will lead a mid-September field trip to Snow Mountain Ranch to see this Fritillary spectacle! Provisional date is Saturday September 13 with bad weather dates of 12th, 14th and 15th September. Carpooling will be available.
If you are interested in joining us, contact David James (david_james@wsu.edu) to be put on the list.
