Resist With Rage: A Slam Poetry Night

The Washington County Democrats present an evening of slam poetry! The Slam Poetry Contest consists of poetry (either an original poem or one written by another poet) based on the theme “Resist with Rage.” In this frightening period of our national history, resistance is our only tool, and resistance takes many forms. The Slam Poetry Contest gives people space to express their views, their fears, and their rage.

Poems will be “performed” (read out loud) and may be no longer than 3 minutes. Poems may NOT contain sexist, racist, homophobic, or transphobic comments. The contest will be judged by a panel of judges and audience applause. If you wish to perform your poem, contact [youngdems_chair@washcodems.org](mailto:youngdems_chair@washcodems.org). There is space for 15 poems. Ticket holders will receive additional information over email. The event will take place in downtown Hillsboro. The full address will be available to ticket holders. Resist with Rage is co-sponsored by the Young Democrats and the Finance Committee. The cost of a ticket is $15.00.
