Meetup #37: Finale Fever or Fury?

NOTE: Meetup is back to Saturday this month!

Ok, well... THAT happened. We had quite the epic and shocking season finale that everyone is, I am sure, still processing. As we try to ascertain just what exactly happened and who - if anyone - is going to be the 16th Doctor, we'll take our inspiration from various facets of the season finale. So, choose from:

The Three Doctors - On the 10th anniversary of the original series run, the 3rd, 2nd, and 1st Doctors take on Omega for the first time! Omega, one of the greatest figures in Time Lord history, of course spectacularly returned in the finale... for 5 minutes. Before being shot with a laser gun.

Time and the Rani - The 7th Doctor and Mel encounter the Rani after she forces the regeneration of the 6th Doctor. The Rani, one of the most famous renegades in Time Lord history, of course spectacularly returned in the finale - oops, she got eaten. By Omega. Who I guess does that now.

Rose/Father's Day - Billie Piper blew us all away with her fantastic debut season playing Rose Tyler as she played a key role in establishing the new Doctor Who as a global smash hit. Billie Piper, one of the most beloved actresses of the new era, of course spectacularly returned in the finale... and we're all super confident that RTD has a fantastic and dramatically satisfying plan for whatever role she is going to play. Right? RIGHT?!

Spearhead from Space - "You know what, I think I'd rather forget the finale and enjoy some soothing classic Who if it's all the same with you?" In which case, we can watch the sparkly new Blu-Ray version of the 3rd Doctor's television debut.

When you RSVP, please rank the four options above in the comments in the order of preference (1 being "Yes! I am dying to see it!" and 4 being "Meh."), and we will abide by the choice of the attendees.

For the Meetup itself, we ask everyone to bring something to drink and something to eat (snacks/munchies - you don't need to bring a whole ham or something!) to share with the group. We'll have food and drink as well and maybe a themed cocktail if the inspiration strikes...

We are a couple blocks from the Columbia Heights Metro (15th and Harvard NW). We'll provide the full address ahead of the event. Note also that we are a walk-up - two flights of stairs.
