Brief summary of the film: Frustrated by her dead-end job in New York, Julie Powell (Amy Adams) decides on self-therapy by whipping up all 524 recipes in Julia Child’s landmark cookbook, Mastering the Art of French Cooking. The fore narrative is intertwined with Child (played with uncanny aplomb by Meryl Streep) and her own struggles in the 1950s.
