Meet the instructors:
Retired Mounter Officer David Claridge served with the Tempe Police Department (AZ) for 20 years. During that time he rode with the Mounted Unit part time and full time for 16 years. During his time on the unit he became AZPOST certified as a mounted instructor, and worked as a primary trainer for the police horses and Officers. He is an excellent instructor from whom one can learn horseback self defense.

Officer Ted Noel III has served 20 years with the Tempe Police department. During that time he was the master trainer for the Mounted Unit for several years. Officer Noel has taught and written several mounted police schools, training officers to ride and do the job from horseback. Our "Trail Safe" riding clinic is his brain child. Officer Noel became AZPOST certified as a mounted instructor
