What we’re about
Welcome to Salon Mystère. This group gives people an opportunity to converse about interesting topics over a lively dinner in a more intimate setting. This is for those of us who aren’t interested in meeting 150 people at a rooftop bar and making endless small talk.
The intimate setting is a private home and each gathering is limited to 10 people except for some garden events which will be larger. For dinner events, attendees will have to buy a ticket and please let us know of any food restrictions. The refund policy is on the meetup page and event pricing will vary to cover costs of dinner and beverages. Attendees are welcome to bring beverages and small comestibles, or any special food they prefer to eat. Eventually, I hope that others might host as well. It is a good way to practice the art of a dinner party!
We are a household that eats meat (except pork), seafood, and uses spices. I promise we will not cook you anything with too much chili and there will be a vegetarian option always. We also have three small dogs so you’re all aware. They are human enthusiasts and will jump up on you before settling down. We have tried to get them to not do this but have been miserable failures on that score.
Because we are in a private home and I am a lawyer, you will be asked to sign a legal waiver. Nothing complicated but it will waive your right to sue for accidents.
I should also introduce my spouse, Ben Hamlin who will co-host. He has a doctorate in Public Health from Hopkins and is the science-y end of our outfit.
