Intro to Insect Frass for Indoor Gardens (with Dave at Future Acre Farms)
Details
Hi Future Green Thumbs!
Join us for an exciting online event with Future Acre Farms in Burke, VA for a hands-on introduction to insect frass—a regenerative, microbe-packed fertilizer made from insects raised on food scraps. Dave will walk us through the process, and the Plant3r team will show you exactly how to use frass in soil containers under LED grow lights.
This event will be recorded as a special Plant3r session for the online indoor food growing community at **IndoorGardenMarket.com**.
You’ll learn:
- What insect frass is and how it’s produced
- Why frass is rich in nutrients, microbes, and chitin (plant immune booster)
- How to mix frass into your potting soil for seed starting & transplants
- How often to top-dress containers under LEDs
- Basic frass “tea” recipe for soil drenches
Great for: beginners to intermediate indoor growers, balcony gardeners, and anyone in NoVA (and online) who loves the idea of turning waste into food.
What to bring (optional):
- A notebook & your frass questions
- Photos of your current indoor setup (we love show-and-tell)
