Here's why shekere is a great choice. The shekere offers a wide range of sounds through different techniques like shaking, tapping, and striking, allowing for a variety of rhythmic patterns.

No prior musical experience is needed to start playing.

This class will cover basic techniques like shaking and striking.

Cultural Connection: Shekere can be played in lots of settings, with a group or individually, and is terrific to play with ensembles too for lots of rhythms from reggae to samba. Shekere provides an opportunity to explore and connect with diverse musical traditions.
