Hike Overview
Difficulty: Challenging – 9 miles round trip with approximately 2,900 feet of elevation gain on established trail.
Duration: Full-day outing. Please bring sufficient water, lunch, and appropriate gear.

Join us for a striking ascent along the Beverly Creek Trail toward Iron Peak, passing through a broad, open valley composed of distinctive serpentinite geology. This hike serves as a compelling introduction to the region’s botanical richness—expect to encounter Penstemon, Lewisia, Eriogonum, Castilleja, and many others, including the notable Claytonia megarhiza.
A Northwest Forest Pass is required for each vehicle.
Meeting Points:

  • Seattle participants: Green Lake Park & Ride – depart promptly at 7:00 AM
  • Eastside participants: Preston Park & Ride (30303 SE High Point Way) – depart at 7:30 AM
