Enrich Data Analytics with GenAI / KNIME Data Connect: Arlington

Details

KNIME Data Connect will be making its next stop in Arlington, Virginia on July 22, 2024.

5 PM - Doors Open

5:10 PM - 5:40 PM - Talk 1: Detecting Frauds in Investment Contracts - Enrich Data Analytics with GenAI by Elisabeth Richter

In this presentation, we will explore a fraud detection use case and utilize the multi-language capabilities of GenAI to automatically generate custom alert messages - all without writing a single line of code.

During this presentation, you will discover different fraud detection techniques (visual and statistical) and you will learn how to use GenAI via the KNIME AI Extension (Labs). This includes how to:

  • prompt engineer an LLM via the OpenAI Integration,
  • create a vector store from a corpus of different types of investment contracts (the knowledge base), and
  • build and deploy a data app to display email alerts and make it available to authenticated users on a web browser.

5:40 PM - 6:10 PM - Talk 2: Leveraging Geospatial Analytics in KNIME by Dr. Mengxi Zhang

This talk will introduce Geospatial Analytics for KNIME, developed by the Spatial Data Lab (SDL) project at the Harvard University Center for Geographic Analysis (CGA) as a joint effort with KNIME to facilitate replicable spatiotemporal data analysis. It will also discuss the future plans, directions as well as potential applications.

6:10 PM - 7:00 PM - Refreshments and Networking

Meet the Speakers:

Dr. Mengxi Zhang is a social epidemiologist and an assistant professor in the Department of Health Systems and Implementation Science at Virginia Tech Carilion School of Medicine. She completed her training in Epidemiology and International Health at Tulane University. Her work focuses on: 1) the well-being of immigrants and displaced persons, and 2) disparities in health and healthcare resources among underrepresented populations. Methodologically, she draws upon analytical techniques from epidemiology, geography, and economics. She has a growing interest in geospatial analysis and has served as the vice president of Future Data Lab since 2020.

Elisabeth Richter is part of the Evangelism team at KNIME and works as a Data Scientist with a particular focus on the books published under the KNIME Press. Besides that, she engages with the KNIME community on social media and in presentations, workshops, and events both online and onsite. She holds a master’s degree in Social and Economic Data Science from the University of Konstanz, Germany.

There will be The Symposium on Spatiotemporal Data Science also taking place at Virginia Tech Research Center – Arlington & Mason Square
