Maybe you were there for our hike in November when blizzard conditions forced us to turn around before reaching the summit. Maybe you avoided that fiasco and are looking for a pleasant hike not too far from town. Either way, come join us for a tour of the mountains on the south side of Snoqualmie Pass. This route features pleasant trails, picturesque lakes, and scenic mountain views.
We will take a slightly different route than last time, starting from the Mirror Lake Trailhead and traveling along the PCT for a few miles until the turn towards the ridge. Silver Peak will be our first target for the day. While Silver is the tallest of the peaks, the path there is well marked and not that steep, though some occasional easy scrambling may be required. From the summit, we will hopefully be treated to views of the Snoqualmie valley and Mt. Rainier.
Moderate hikers are welcome to stop there and retrace their steps back to Mirror Lake. Adventurous souls will note that Abiel and Tinkham peaks are both less than a mile from the junction. The path to each of these peaks is steeper and more challenging than Silver and will involve some scrambling (class 2 for Abiel, class 2-3 for Tinkham). Going over Tinkham leads us back around to Mirror Lake to close the loop.
Either way, we will meet up back at Mirror Lake to enjoy a relaxing dip in the water before heading back to the cars.
Hiking poles are recommended. Also bring plenty of food and water, and a jacket in case it is windy at the summit. Sunscreen is recommended and expect lots of mosquitos. Bring a swimsuit if you want to jump in the lake.

The road is a little rough, but a sturdy sedan can make it. Riders should give $20 to their drivers for gas. Bring a plastic bag to place your boots in after the hike. A Northwest Forest Pass or America the Beautiful Pass is required to park at the trailhead.
