Dirty Harry's Peak (Hard)
Details
Come out and hike to Dirty Harry’s Peak!
Distance: 8.5 miles
Elevation Gain: 3,500 ft.
Difficulty: Hard
There’s supposed to be a break in the rain Saturday, and maybe a break in the clouds too. Let’s use this time to get some exercise and maybe enjoy the scenery. Most of the trail to Dirty Harry’s Peak is in the forest and provides some shelter if the weather is iffy, but in a few places it still opens up to reveal some nice viewpoints. The trail only gets steeper as time goes on, but push through for some nice views at the top, or at least the satisfaction of burning plenty of calories.
If you want to make this a conditioning hike with extra weight, go ahead. We will keep a moderate pace.
We are hoping for good weather, but be ready for cold, windy, rainy, or snowy conditions! Microspikes are required! Don’t forget hiking poles, warm clothing, hats, gloves, etc.
