Join for a refreshing Saturday hike to Heather Lake, where we’ll not only enjoy a beautiful forest trail but also take intentional time to slow down, be present, and appreciate the natural beauty of the mountains and lake.
This hike is designed to be both energizing and grounding - a chance to step away from busy routines, breathe in fresh mountain air, and enjoy nature at a relaxed, mindful pace.
We’ll meet at Ash Way Park & Ride at 10:00 AM, which allows everyone enough time to rest after the workweek and start the weekend feeling refreshed rather than rushed. The drive from Ash Way Park & Ride to the Heather Lake trailhead is approximately 39 miles one way.
### Hike Details
- Distance: ~4.6 miles round trip
- Elevation Gain: ~1,000 feet
- Difficulty: Easy to Moderate
- Trail Type: Out-and-back
- Pace: Steady and relaxed with breaks
At Heather Lake, we’ll spend some quiet time soaking in the views, appreciating the stillness, having lunch, and being mindful of the surroundings - no rush, just presence.
### What to Bring (Required / Strongly Recommended)
- Hiking shoes or boots with good traction
- Microspikes (Required due to possible snow/ice)
- Water (at least 1–2 liters)
- Lunch and snacks
- Weather-appropriate layers
- Trekking poles (optional but helpful)
### Carpool Information
- Riders are kindly requested to contribute $25 each to the driver
- The trailhead requires a Northwest Forest or America the Beautiful Pass.
