Enjoy a classic Olympic Mountain view hike. The 2,804-foot summit of Mount Walker is approachable and offers beautiful 360° views into the Olympic National Forest and beyond. This loop takes you up steep, rewarding switchbacks to the North and South viewpoints before a gentler return via a forest service road.

đźš— Schedule & Meeting

  • 7:00 AM – Meet at Green Lake P&R (NE 65th St & I-5, Seattle)
  • 7:05 AM – Depart for Edmonds ferry terminal
  • 7:55 AM – Board Edmonds–Kingston ferry
  • 8:20 AM – Quick rest stop at Safeway (8196 WA-104, Kingston, WA 98346)
  • ~9:30 AM – Arrive at Mount Walker Trailhead
  • ~2:30/3:00 PM – Return to trailhead (4.5-5 hr hike + breaks)
  • 4:00–4:40 PM – Target for Kingston–Edmonds ferry (depending on traffic & ferry line)
  • ~5:00 PM – Return to Green Lake P&R

🎒 Gear Notes

  • Hiking poles, Sturdy hiking boots, Rain gear and extra warm layers
  • Standard day hike essentials: Water (~2 liters), lunch/snacks
