Let's hike the iconic Skyline Loop at Mount Rainier's Paradise! This trail offers incredible views of glaciers, waterfalls, and the surrounding mountains. This is a winter/spring snow hike, so proper gear is essential.

🎒 Required Gear

  • Snowshoes OR microspikes – trail conditions vary; be prepared for both packed snow and post-holing
  • Hiking poles – highly recommended for stability
  • Sturdy waterproof hiking boots
  • Rain pants or trash bag – for glissading (butt sliding) on the way down!
  • Gaiters – helpful to keep snow out of boots
  • Standard day hike essentials: 2-3L water, lunch, snacks
  • Dress in layers for varying conditions
  • Sun protection: sunglasses (essential for snow glare!), sunscreen, hat
  • Change of clothes, shoes, etc.

⚠️ Trail Note
We'll hike as far as conditions safely allow. The full loop may not be possible depending on snow stability. We'll aim for Panorama Point (a classic destination) and assess conditions from there. If conditions allow, there may be fun glissading spots on the descent—rain pants make for a much smoother (and drier) slide!
💰 Cost Sharing

  • $25 per person to cover gas, vehicle wear, and national park entry. Cash or Venmo.
