Come and climb to the top of Mount Dickerman!

Distance: 9 miles
Elevation Gain: 4,000 ft.
Difficulty: Hard

Located in the heart of the Mountain Loop area north of Seattle, Mount Dickerman grants amazing views of Baker, Glacier Peak, and the North Cascades. It takes a bit of grind to get there though! The trail starts steep and doesn’t let up. After a few miles, we will break out of the forest and may be treated to some early flowers where the snow has receded. Spring is here in Seattle, but expect significant snow on the upper parts of the mountain as we push up the steepest section towards the summit to enjoy the great views and eat lunch.

Microspikes are required, but I recommend bringing mountaineering boots, crampons, and an ice axe as well. With the warm weather, the snow will be soft and snowshoes might be useful too. If you don’t bring all the gear, you may have to stop before the summit!

Riders should pay their drivers for gas (about $15-20 depending on car and # of passengers). Bring a plastic bag to place your boots in after the hike. A Northwest Forest Pass or America the Beautiful Pass is required to park at the trailhead. The road is paved and suitable for all cars.
