Come out for a hike to Trapper’s Peak!

Distance: 10 miles
Elevation Gain: 3,500 ft.
Difficulty: Hard

Now that the snow has melted, let’s go enjoy some beautiful North Cascades scenery! Trappers peak sits on the edge of the National Park and offers amazing views of high, snowy mountains. The trail there is challenging, but manageable for experienced hikers. Flat at first, the trail steepness only increases as we go further in, until we get to the junction with the Thornton Lake trail. The last mile contains some extra challenges including rock scrambling (low class 3) and traversing a narrow ridge. From the summit, we can enjoy views of Mount Triumph, Mount Baker, Eldorado, Snowfield Peak, and many more.

We will likely make a short side trip to the nearby X mountain as well. Depending on when we summit and the condition of the group, a side trip to Thornton Lake is also possible.
