• Elevation Gain: ~4,100 ft

• Highest Point: ~6,225 ft
• Pass Required: Northwest Forest Pass or America the Beautiful Pass for trailhead parking.

⚠️ Trail notes: This is a very strenuous hike with roughly 4,000+ ft of elevation gain packed into a relatively short distance. The climb is steep and relentless, with rocky terrain, some scrambling, and route-finding near the summit. The payoff is incredible panoramic views of the North Cascades.
This is not a beginner hike. Please be comfortable with sustained steep elevation gain and uneven/rocky terrain. Trekking poles are strongly recommended.

🚗 Schedule & Meeting

• 6:30 AM - Meet at Green Lake Park & Ride (NE 65th St & I-5, Seattle) South Lot. Carpool and depart promptly.
• ~8:15 AM - Optional 10 min stop for bathrooms / snacks / coffee.
• ~9:30 AM - Arrive at Sunrise Mine Trailhead / start hiking 🥾
• ~3:30-4:30 PM - Back to cars.
• ~7:00 PM - Estimated return to Green Lake.

Timing is approximate and may change depending on hiking pace, trail conditions, traffic, and breaks.

🎒 What to Bring

• Hiking boots with good traction
• Trekking poles - strongly recommended
• 2-3+ liters of water
• Lunch + snacks
• Sunscreen, hat, sunglasses
• Layers - mountain weather can change quickly
• Offline map / AllTrails+ highly recommended
• Gloves for scrambling
• Change of shoes/clothes for post-hike comfort
• Northwest Forest Pass or America the Beautiful Pass
