Come out and hike to some lesser known Alpine Lakes!

Distance: 8.6 miles
Elevation Gain: 2,000 ft.
Difficulty: Moderate

The weather might not be so nice this weekend, but I’m determined to do something, so let’s check out some less visited alpine lakes. If you go past Spada Lake (the source of Snohomish county’s water and closed to recreation) you can head up to a number of beautiful alpine lakes. Despite being only an hour and a half from Seattle, these lakes are tucked away and rarely crowded. The trail goes around the reservoir for two miles before turning steeply up the hill towards Little Greider Lake. Continue just a bit further to the larger and prettier Big Greider Lake which is surrounded by a high ridge. We’ll enjoy a break by the water before heading back to town.

Afternoon rain is very likely, so be ready for anything. Make sure you have decent boots and a jacket because it probably will rain at some point. Dress in layers and be ready for sun, heat, rain, wind, or cool weather. Bring a swimsuit if you dare!

Riders should give $15-$20 to their drivers for gas. Bring a plastic bag to place your boots in after the hike. The road is suitable for all cars. A parking pass is not needed, but each car must stop at the entrance booth and sign a slip promising to follow the rules and not swim in Spada Lake.

Important: I am not a guide and this is not a guided trip. You and yourself alone are responsible for your own safety. Please know your abilities before signing up.
